In municipal forest-parks,
especially in of many years forests, wild birds
still nests, first of all they are birds of prey
and birds nesting in hollows. Some species of
bats are dwelling. The most of these species are
noted down into the Red Book of Ukraine.
For
example, the tract "Lysa gora" is
factually an island in the middle of the
municipal buildings. Here during many years
there was a military unit. That's why now there
(according to Zoology Institute data) there is a
lot of species noted down into the Red Book.
They
are Papilio machaon and black apollo -
Parnassi apollo, Polyommatus daphnis,
beetle-deer - Lucanus-cervus, small
batmen -Nystalus leisteri and
others.
Within Kyiv there are the
beavers settlements, not long ago still there is
an otter (it is possible it dwells there
now).
The Dnipro
river, its tributaries and islands are of great
important for municipal biological diversity
protection. There are not only nesting of ten
bird species, but thousandth birds
agglomerations during transmigrations and
hibernation periods. As a rule they are the rare
species. So, the golden-eye duck agglomeration
of several hundred of species is observed during
the period of spring migration, opposite the
housing massif Obolon in 1994.
At the
Bortnitska irrigating system, some years ago,
about two ten eagles - Haliaeetus
albicilla stayed for the winter (in Ukraine
they nests no more 20 couple and stay for the
winter about 200 species).
The small rivers and natural
allotments of flood-lands have a considerable
value. |
